Curriculum
So Rim Kung Fu is a unique martial art in that it is a traditionally Chinese style taught with a Korean influence to preserve Grandmaster Jung's heritage. Novice students begin training Taun Te (springing leg) drills. The Tuan Te's teach students the fundamental movements, postures, and techniques of the style. These drills are trained with many repetitions on both right and left sides which ensure a thorough grounding in the essential building blocks of the system.
After learning the Tuan Te's, students progress to many more complex open hand forms. Chinese weapon sets are taught concurrently which span the staff, spear, broadsword and sabre. Throughout the curriculum, eastern philosophy and ethics are also stressed.
Supplementary training consists of rigorous isometric and dynamic stance conditioning, kicking and punching drills, sparring and Chi Kung breathing exercises. Hap–Ki–Do is also incorporated for practical self defense purposes such as grappling, joint-lock and submission training.
